Important! Please do not use the main goal mouth areas during training or recreational use of the field. These are high traffic areas and the grass needs time to recover after the weekend matches. This particularly applies to the club house end of the field. The goal mouth areas are taped off to discourage access to these areas outside match times.

Praise for Dayboro Referees - again!
Hi, On Saturday I was again told of the high esteem in which Samford families hold our Dayboro referees. A parent approached me and was very positive about the information referees give to young players. She stated that often refs just blow the whistle and the kids don't know what to do, but the Dayboro referees give guidance about where to stand, what to do etc. She made particular reference to Clare Hohns. Well done Dayboro referees and those who support them! From Juliet

URGENT! Match Day Co-ordinator
The club needs a Match Day Co-ordinator as Graham Rose will be going overseas soon. There are 3 Saturday Home Games in August that need to be covered. Graham will be present between 0730 and 1300 this Saturday (17th July) to discuss the roll. If anyone is interested, please contact Graham on 3425 1286

25 June 2010
Stuart Bennett will be continuing with the Monday skill sessions through the Holidays. Same time, same place. He will also be doing a fun day on each Wednesday afternoon from 1pm. The first Wednesday will be at the club grounds. The second Wednesday he is looking at taking players to Enoggera for a Futsal afternoon. We have to hire the courts so Stuart will negotiate the best price he can. He hope's to keep it down to no more than $5 each for the afternoon. It would assist Stuart if parents can let him know if they would like to be there.

Managers & Coaches - Please advise all your players and parents on Saturday.

NEWLY TOP DRESSED SURface

Areas of the northeastern end of the field have recently been top dressed to help level the playing surface. This became necessary after some damage was caused as a result of the recent wet weather. It has been observed that some children have been playing in this top dressing sand. Please surpervise the children in your care when at the field and ensure they don't unnecessarily disturb the top dressing. This measure is to encourage rapid growth of new grass.

Also, please do not use the main goal mouth areas during training or recreational use of the field. These are high traffic areas and the grass needs time to recover after the weekend matches. This particularly applies to the club house end of the field. In future, the goal mouth areas will be taped off to discourage access to these areas.

EQUIPMENT AREA CLEANUP
Over the weekend, some VIP helpers cleaned out the equipment area of the clubhouse.  As you come to train on weekdays, please try to maintain some order within the room.  Our Director of Coaching, Stuart Bennett is also installing an elevated hanging area for coachs' bags to hang to keep the floor space tidy.   Please support the after hours work everyone.

KEYS
Reminder to Managers & Coaches that 2 sets of keys for the equipment area are available at Matilda Station, Dayboro.  It is essential that you arrange pickup and dropoff in relation to your training days and for any match events on Sundays at home.

Calling all registered builders and plasterers.
As you should know, the club is in the process of fitting out the new clubhouse. If you are a tradie or know of any who can help, please contact John Alexander at jara1962@yahoo.com

Safety
Recently the club purchased and installed a delivery of large size gravel to the entry of the soccer playing field to help with the quite boggy and slippery conditions. It has been noted that some younger children have been throwing these rocks during training sessions. Please supervise your children at all times, especially with regards to throwing objects that can cause serious injury.

Also on a safety note, it is advisable that parking near the fence and main entrance of the field should be avoided – especially if you will need to leave before all the soccer matches have finished. Reversing cars and young children are not a good combination. Match day officials and long term parkers are excepted, as often it is necessary for them to unload and load their vehicles in the course of running the proceedings and will more than likely remain parked for the entire day. Please park your cars above the club house area.

No Smoking!
The club has a no smoking policy. Some parents have complained about others smoking at soccer matches. There is an agreement with Council and Football Brisbane that no smoking is permitted within 3m from a building. Also, smoking on the field and around other spectators and children around the field is not permitted.

Lost property
There is a significant amount of lost property in the shed. If you feel that you may have left an item belonging to you at the field at some time in the past, speak to an official on match day.

Club Keys
There are two sets of keys kept at Matilda Service Station in Dayboro. If you need access to the field or shed please obtain keys from (and return them to!) the service station.

Changes to Committee
Polly Bennett has relinquished her role as Team Liaison Officer with the club. Her role has been taken over by Lauren Saville. The committee (and we’re sure the rest of the club) would to thank Polly for her work over the past year. Welcome to Lauren!

Following is a comment emailed by a parent from an away team that travelled to Dayboro last weekend...

Thought a note worthy point to raise- on Saturday we travelled out to Dayboro for our game- I must say that the young Gent who refereed the game was simply brilliant- his name is Billy and my word did he do a splendid job. He coached the children from start to finish- a credit to him and a credit to the club. I took particular time after the game to discuss the effort with both a club official name unknown (but was heavily involved with ground) and the oppositions coach- Graham Sweeney-

I passed on our appreciation that such a talent was made available.

Again just thought it note worthy…

Donation of canteen items:

Donation of any small electrical items suitable for use in the canteen would be appreciated. Particularly on the look out for a freezer. Contact the canteen co-ordinators at mmjselliott@dodo.com.au
